I have always loved to cook. Whether it is hosting parties, preparing meals for my family, or bringing treats to colleagues, I’ve always looked for an excuse to show my love through food.
Each stage in my life can be defined by my relationship with cooking. In my childhood, I remember cooking with my Abuela (Grandmother), who taught me how to prepare Mexican cuisine. As I grew up and married, I found great joy in cooking meals for my family in my own home. I recently helped my brother open a Mexican restaurant in Texas, merging my Abuela’s recipes with modern elements of Tex-Mex cuisine.
Reflecting on all of these memories, past and present, made me realize how important cooking for others is to me. That’s why I left my former career and pursued a degree in the culinary arts. It’s that love of cooking for the people around me that led me to launch Meals on Heels — whether nourishing your family on a weekly basis or helping you to celebrate a major milestone, I can’t wait to bring my love of a great meal to you and your family.
